At the end of April 2023, Brodoto was hosted by Dr Krešimir Dabo, senior lecturer at the Department of Tourism and the Department of Communications at Edward Bernays University of Applied Sciences in Zagreb. The visit had two goals: to introduce students to crowdfunding, and to present the results of the Erasmus+ project MORE as one of its multiplier events.

About the MORE project

MORE develops an educational programme for people who work with young people. It is designed to help them build relevant competences and skills in education and training, project writing, digital skills and more.

Crowdfunding for future communicators

One of the highlights of the event was a presentation of the project’s video lessons on crowdfunding. Students got an introduction to how crowdfunding works and what it can offer youth work and youth-led initiatives.

Since communication is at the heart of their studies, we put special focus on the role communication skills play in a successful campaign, from telling a compelling story to reaching the right audience, and on how campaigns can be used to promote social entrepreneurship. We also shared plenty of examples of how crowdfunding can help young people launch their own ideas, including in tourism.

We hope we inspired some of them to set off on their own crowdfunding adventure.
