The idea for the Fabula organic pencil was born in Varaždin, and the team first joined Brodoto’s Crowdfunding Academy in 2015 to learn how to turn it into a successful crowdfunding campaign.
A pencil made from waste that grows into a plant
Fabula is a unique plantable pencil made from used tea leaves and coffee grounds collected from cafés, together with flower petals discarded by florists. Its shavings can be used to enrich the soil around your plants, while the stub can be placed in water and planted to grow a goji berry, golden Inca berry or paulownia tree.

The result: $17,998 raised on Indiegogo
The Fabula crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo set out to finance a machine for producing these eco-friendly pencils, and it was successfully funded with $17,998.
